The World’s Best Road Trips – The Best Way to Explore
There’s no better way to experience a place than by road. Road trips give you freedom – to slow down, change plans, and discover places you’d never reach any other way. From dramatic coastal routes and remote islands to mountain passes and quiet back roads, the best road trips aren’t about ticking off sights. They’re about the journey itself.
Here you’ll find our favourite road trips, built from real experience and designed to help you choose the route that fits your time, travel style and sense of adventure.
Why Road Trips Are Special
Road trips have always been at the heart of how we travel.
For four years, we lived full-time in our motorhome, travelling across the UK and Europe. During that time we crossed mountain passes, followed remote coastlines, island-hopped, chased weather windows and learned, sometimes the hard way, what makes a road trip genuinely enjoyable rather than exhausting.
That experience shaped how we approach every route we share. We don’t just look at distances on a map; we think about road conditions, realistic driving times, where flexibility matters, and how small decisions can completely change how a trip feels.
Road trips are special because they offer:
Freedom to travel at your own pace
Access to remote landscapes and hidden places
Flexibility to follow the weather
A deeper connection with local places and people
An ideal way to travel by campervan or car

Everything on this page is built from real journeys, not just research, and designed to help you have a better experience on the road.
Today, we also share that experience in a different way: by giving road trip talks at festivals and shows across the UK. We spend our time helping people plan better trips, avoid common mistakes, and feel confident heading out on the road – drawing directly from years of life on the road and thousands of miles of real-world travel.
