This book is Simply superb.
It is extremely well presented and laid out giving all the essential information one would need with additional campervan information such as waste and fresh water locations.
The quality of their photographs accompanying the script is absolutely incredible too and it just makes the reader yearn to break out and drive there and see it all in the flesh.

For the clueless amongst us, sometimes we need to be taken by the hand and led to exactly where we want to go, or even where we might want to! As a keen amateur photographer who works full time, I don’t have a lot of time to spare planning and faffing around trying to find a location. This book is what I have been looking for in this respect. A lot of love and hard work and dedication has been put into the research for It, as is reflected in Gemma and Campbell’s youtube channel. It’s not so much a how we did it, better still a why we did it!
The Assynt in the westerly area of the NC500 is a wide open space begging to be explored. If you want to get lost, in the nicest possible term, this is the place for you.
I havn’t personally driven the NC500, but I have a clearer Idea of what awaits thanks to this painstakingly assembled book. If, like me and my wife, you are planning on doing this trip soon, this book is a compulsory companion.

In the summer of 2016 I visited the western part of the NC500 together with my son for two weeks, my wife joined us for another week (from Inverness to Glen Affric, Durness, Old Man of Stoer, Ullapool, Isle of Skye, Fort William, Glencoe, Loch Awe an then back home). As a veteran of the NC500 even before it was christened, I love looking and reading about bits I missed and bringing back memories. We’ve just finished reading your Destination NC500 book, and it’s full of amazing photos and information. I hope you keep on travelling! You work so well together as a couple, a great match. We’ve visited the Highlands on holiday, along with Skye, Mull, Arran, the Outer Hebrides and Taransay… and every area has its own unique landscapes. Our travels have covered quite a lot of the NC500 too. The only comment I would make about the book is a lack of maps, which could be useful.
I was born in Glasgow (but we moved South when I was 3). But my daughter is married to a Scot and they live in Glasgow now. They met on Taransay as they were both working in TV on the Castaway 2000 series. And they got married on the beach there too. Now they have a family, and a Scottish daughter who Gemma reminds me of.

For my own personal viewpoint if you wanted to take your guidebooks to the next level so to speak, what about producing a guidebook that also comes with a map? As travellers when we read about something we are instantly drawn to seeing where is actually is, doing this on a physical map is sometimes a lot easier than looking at a page in a book or on a website. I appreciate it adds costs but for me a travel boom and map go hand in hand is a very social way to palm your trips with friends especially of the map can fit into the book for safe keeping

As my husband came from theNW Highlands we have travelled the Wesr coast since 1973 when the roads especially the pass of the cattle and Docherty pass were very very narrow and the drivers were more respectful.Also the facilities were non existent as were the convenient bridges over lochs and firths.Have spent many happy times at Kylesku waiting for the ferry watching the abundant wildlife.And watching otters waiting for the Skye ferry.Your book is a revelation so much information and interesting bits too read about campsites hotels and places to eat and places to see.We have driven all the coast of Scotland in a car as well as a motorvan and wish that many drivers were not in such a hurry to get to the next stop or park in passing places.it’s not a journey to be done in a couple of days take time and enjoy all the scenery and stop at the places in your book that are so well described.

We have just completed the NC500, the book was a god send, it pointed out places to visit, eat and diesel stops as well as finding our own, we didn’t do much planning, we are both 66 and we had decide now was the time to go, so we borrowed a tent of our son and off we went and as we went round the coast the more we got into it, what a amazing place, it has taken us 10 days luckily we have no time restrictions, we are now in Skye thinking what a fantastic adventure, something we have never had the chance to do before. We will definitely be back to do the places we missed.
We won’t leave home with out the book it helped us in so many ways, than you.
